Of course they do. It's kinda their "thing". They're nothing, if not consistent.

Hey, when are we gonna outlaw cars? More kids die from evil cars each year, than they do from guns...

Why don't they just outlaw stupidity.

That way, only outlaws would be stupid.

*Sigh*

The attacks on our second amendment rights have begun yet again. I don't see how any gun owner can vote for any Democrat.

I don't see how any gun owner can vote for any republican, either. They both want you disarmed. Keeps them safer while they are raping you.

Quite true.....about 12:1 in fact, in any given year.....and if you take out homicides by firearms, it goes to 30:1, cars over guns.

What sent a chill down my spine was how calm and collected the father was talking about the son he was responsible for killing. Funky stuff.

That used to be one of the few things I gave Bush credit for, but then I found out he doesn't deserve credit for it. The Republican Congress let it expire, but if they had voted to renew it, Bush has said we would have signed the renewal instead of vetoing it.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/...ban/index.html - "President Bush says he will sign a bill renewing the assault weapons ban if Congress passes it."

As for Democrats and the 2nd Amendment, I was honestly surprised when I was looking over a Kansas voting guide from the NRA and they had several Democrats with better pro-gun grades then the Republican running against them. Still, it was predominately Republicans with the better grades.

I have no doubt that the voting record associated to a bill designed to support the mechanism of political wedge issues (such as "gun control") will look just as this one does. It keeps you believing that one party (R) is your friend, and the other (D) is your enemy, so that you keep supporting the status quo. One appears to want to disarm you, the other appears to support your right to bear arms to defend your rights against a tyrannical government.

They both know that if necessary, the state can always generate overwhelming force to further its purposes, assault weapons banned or not.

OK, keep believing that one party is equal to the other in regard to gun control. See what happens.

Where is the outrage over swimming pools? How can we let all those swimming pools go unregulated? They should be registered, banned in public, and no swimming pools within 5 miles of a school! Please, think of the children!

Estimated guns in the United States: 275 million

Unintentional firearm deaths ages 0-14 (according to the CDC) from 2000 to 2005: 412

Estimated swimming pools in the United States: 2.5 million

Unintentional drowning deaths from 2000 to 2005 ages 0-14: 4,993

I'm not sure how my beliefs affect the issue, or the laws. They certainly haven't up to now...

If you want a semi auto you better get it NOW. Before the election.

I'm sure if Mclame gets in he won't be much nicer to our guns either.

The reporter referred to a "semi-automatic Uzi machine gun." This is self-contradictory, yet the phrase manages to sound ominous and threatening, as intended. For some reason, correct terms like "fully automatic" or just "automatic" don't seem to have the same negative connotation.

Well whaddayaknow....it was introduced by several Republican congressman. If this doesn't show you that both party's goal is your disarming then I don't know what else to say.
